每个单元以Writing Proiect,Big Question两个活动结束本单元的学习。学生通过这两个部分的活动设计,应用本单元学习的知识、语言和策略,达到从输入到输出的目的。
Writing Project每个单元最后的写作项目,包括了完整的写作过程,如确定写作任务、列提纲、起草、修改、编辑和校对、发表。写作项目与阅读相关联,全面应用本单元所学的语言技能,以写作项目的形式输出语言。
Thinking Map每个单元以Big Question贯穿整个单元,从大问题开始,单元结束又回到这个大问题。学生通过一个单元的学习,获得了更多的想法和语言来回答大问题,并可以选择Share Your ideas中四种形式的一种,来进行展示。这个设计也充分体现了CCSS标准中对独立思考能力和思辨能力的培养。
